Cae Mawr, Anglesey |
 |
If your idea of caravanning heaven is all about getting away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, this is the spot for you. In 2004 and 2005, the Cae Mawr site was voted as the favourite 'Get Away' site of Caravan Club members.
Cae Mawr is positioned just off the coast of Anglesey - providing a tranquil and scenic 'island holiday' without having to take your caravan abroad. The site has few of the luxuries you may find at other sites - there's not even a toilet and shower block - but what you will find on your arrival is a friendly welcome and some truly stunning views.
Anglesey is home to some fantastic coastal scenery and golden sandy beaches, and from the site itself you can enjoy some impressive views of the Snowdonian mountains. You will doubtless also wonder at the beautiful floral displays for which the Cae Mawr site wardens have won national acclaim.
Relexation is key to this site - having so few amenities means it is generally a very quiet and peaceful place in which to recharge your batteries and forget the stresses and strains! That's not to say there is nothing to do in the area - if you want to be more active you could always visit Beaumaris Castle, the Sea Watch Centre in Moelfre or even take a trip across to Ireland.
Peace and quiet, stunning scenery and a cooling sea breeze - could there be any better way to kick off your caravanning?
The site is open between late March and early October, see www.caravanclub.co.uk for more details.
