Camping Gaz Light and Lanterns In 1949, three engineers from Lyon filled a huge gap in the post war leisure market when they created the first 901 cylinder stove. The idea caught on rapidly, and by 1951 Camping Gaz was establishing a world wide cylinder exchange programme that brought total freedom to travellers.
